Doug

People run for all different sorts of reasons. Some people merely run for the fun of it or the exercise. Some people run to something, someone or someplace. Others run away from other people or maybe their problems.

Then there’s Doug Ellis of Miamisburg, Ohio. He’s running for a cause. He will be running in the New York City Marathon on November 7th, 2010 with Team McGraw in memory of his beautiful wife Christy Joy Ellis. He is raising money for the Tug McGraw Foundation benefiting brain cancer research and quality of life issues for brain cancer surviors and their caregivers.

Christy

Doug’s wife, Christy passed away on February 19th, 2010. Christy was 50 years old and had battled malignant brain cancer for just over 2 years. You can read more about Doug, Christy and his fundraising efforts by clicking here.

Shop Once Insurance is proud to be a part of Doug’s journey and fundraising efforts. Starting immediately and running through October 10th, 2010, Shop Once Insurance will donate one dollar to the Tug McGraw Foundation for each new Facebook fan (like) we get at our Facebook page. Doug ran in his first ever half marathon to benefit the Tug McGraw Foundation on April 24th in Nashville. Now, in NYC, this will be the first time for him to participate in a full marathon. He is training hard six days a week and we are sure he will make us all proud of his effort.

So, please take just a moment, visit our Facebook page and become a fan to help Doug’s cause. And if your insurance is due (or even if it’s not) please give us a call or get an instant quote online to further help the Tug Mcgraw foundation continue their battle against brain cancer.

Good Luck Doug in NYC!
